Sae Rom Kang is the Technical Director at Chem-Pak, Inc., where he leads cross-functional teams in translating technical concepts into commercially successful products. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Lake Forest College, where he synthesized a novel crystalline structure and presented his research at the American Chemical Society’s poster session.
Sae Rom began his career at Stepan Company, researching polymeric dispersants for coating systems and helping bring five products to market. He later served as R&D Manager for PLZ Corp’s cleaning and food divisions while completing his MBA at the Kelley School of Business, focusing on Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation.
Since joining Chem-Pak in June 2024, Sae Rom has driven the commercialization of innovative products across the organization, aligning R&D, operations, and customer needs to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. He is passionate about the manufacturing process from concept to launch and about building the technical capabilities that help Chem-Pak grow.
Sae Rom believes the best technical work happens when teams are aligned, empowered, and customer-focused. He values clear communication, practical problem-solving, and a culture of continuous improvement—creating an environment where great ideas can move quickly from the lab to real-world results.
Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, golfing, skiing, and traveling.
