Research & Development (R&D) Technician
The R&D Technician supports the development, testing, and improvement of new and existing products and processes. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, preparation of samples, accurate documentation of experimental data, and collaboration with chemists, engineers, and production teams to ensure successful product development and scale-up.

Job Purpose
The R&D Technician supports the development, testing, and improvement of new and existing products and processes. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, preparation of samples, accurate documentation of experimental data, and collaboration with chemists, engineers, and production teams to ensure successful product development and scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with formulation, preparation, and testing of experimental samples.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and compliance with safety standards.
- Record, analyze, and report experimental data with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support scale-up trials from lab to pilot and production environments.
- Conduct performance and stability testing on raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain proper labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality Control, and Production teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize formulations.
- Maintain an organized and clean laboratory workspace.
- Stay current on relevant lab practices, equipment, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field; or equivalent laboratory experience.
- 1–3 years of hands-on laboratory or product development experience preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and testing methods.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while demonstrating initiative and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with LIMS or lab documentation systems a plus.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, onsite role based in our Martinsburg, WV facility.
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule (8 hours/day).
- Requires extended periods of standing or walking in a manufacturing environment.
