What You'll Do
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Quality Department, reporting to the Quality Manager, and making sure products consistently meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise the daily activities of Quality Assistants and Quality Leads
- Assign workloads and ensure adequate department coverage
- Coach, mentor, train, and develop Quality team members
- Conduct performance evaluations and employee performance discussions
- Assist with interviewing and onboarding new Quality employees
Quality & Compliance
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and finished-product inspections
- Ensure required testing is completed accurately and on schedule
- Review inspection records and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with disposition decisions involving nonconforming materials or products
- Ensure lab equipment and testing instruments are properly calibrated and maintained
- Support internal and external quality audits
- Maintain Quality Management System documentation, record retention, and document-control practices
Investigations & Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigations into quality issues, customer complaints, and nonconforming products
- Coordinate root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor quality trends and recommend process improvements
- Partner with Production and Maintenance to improve quality, reduce waste, and resolve daily concerns
- Support new-product introductions, production start-ups, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous-improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Quality, Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred
- Five or more years of manufacturing quality experience
- Two or more years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in chemical, aerosol, pharmaceutical, food, or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, CAPA, root-cause analysis, and quality-auditing principles
- Experience interpreting customer specifications and technical documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP or Quality Management software
Reporting & Scope
- Reports to: Quality Manager
- Supervises: Quality Assistants and Quality Leads
Working Conditions
Full-time, onsite position based in Martinsburg, WV. Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and industrial equipment. Frequent standing and walking, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and required use of PPE.
Compensation
- $25.00+ an hour, depending on experience
